DREAMJOBS
LIVING WHAT YOU LOVE
STARTING POINT: “I was, like
many of us in this industry, a racer.
I worked at a motocross shop in
San Diego. I was approached by
Mark McPerry from JT for a sales
job. I stayed there for seven years
and ended as the sales manager.
I learned a ton and met my future
business partner, Marc Blanchard.
We both loved moto but wanted to
do something else. Marc partnered
up with Ludo Boinnard and myself,
starting One Industries. After 10
years at One, we sold it. I recognized a void for someone who understood graphics the way I do, so my
new company, D’Cor Visuals, is now
here!”
THE JOB: “You name it, we do it.
We are a small company. Everyone
here has multiple roles. There are so
many awesome parts to being in the
STARTING POINT: “My dad got
me started riding when I was young.
I started working at his friend’s dealership cleaning the floor and bikes.
I quickly progressed to the parts
department, and then worked as a
service manager at various shops
where I learned a lot about the
industry. Without my dad, I wouldn’t
be where I am today. Motocross has
turned into more of a lifestyle than a
THE JOB: “I handle all the
offroad sponsorship requests, manage the needs of our sponsored
Amateur riders, and help represent
our offroad customers with marketing, sales and planning in our
motorcycle business. The best part
of my job is that I travel to all the
major Amateur motocross events. As
an avid rider myself, I enjoy being at
STARTING POINT: “My parents
bought me a dirt bike at 10 years
old and I started racing. I rode Pro
from 1989 to 2005, coming away
with two outdoor titles. I did motocross schools for a year, then started
as a team manager in 2007 for MDK
Honda. Since then, I have floated
to a few other teams, but I found a
home at Star Racing Yamaha.”
THE JOB: “We have a great
crew at Star Racing Yamaha. I do
everything from scheduling flights to
going to the track with our riders.
I feel my experience brings a lot to
the team and our young riders. The
best part about my job is seeing our
riders on the podium. I am fortunate
to be working with guys like Brad
Hoffman [crew chief], Jeremy Coker,
the dedicated mechanics and everyone else involved who makes this
team a championship contender.” ❏
