With its big, long and fast track, Glen Helen challenged
the Vet riders from 22 countries with big hills and brutal
bumps. MXA’s Jody Weisel designed a totally new track
and opened it up on Thursday, Friday and Saturday so
that non-locals could get the hills wired before Sunday’s

THE MOMENT: Travis Preston came to the 2014
World Vet to defend his title from last year. In a bravura performance, Travis won the first moto going away
over KTM test rider Mike Sleeter, Ryan Morais, Tonni
Anderson and Brian Jorgensen. In the second moto,
Sleeter holeshot and led, but Travis Preston stalked him.
Vet racing is laid-back compared to the
AMA Supercross series. Ryan Morais
brought his son to the starting line and let
him sit on his full-works KTM. Okay, it is
serious when it comes to bike choice.
