FMF KTM 250SXF FACTORY
KTM released a 250SXF Factory Edition for the first
time ever in 2015. It was well worth the wait. FMF built
the pipes that the Troy Lee Designs KTM team uses, so
they had a head start on building horsepower for the
all-new KTM engine.
VERDICT: In place of last year’s sluggish midrange,
FMF uncorked a powerband that yielded greater gains
in throttle response and midrange output. Novices
appreciated the stronger bottom. Intermediates raved
about the midrange pull, and Pros were impressed with
the 14,000 rpm top end. Overall, the 250SXF Factory
Edition FMF Factory 4.1 was a slam dunk.

FOX SHUTTLE SAVANT GEAR BAG
Fox Racing offers eight different gear bags ranging
from $70 to $200. There are four Podium models and four
Shuttle models. Fox has been known to offer different
Shuttle Savant gear bags, delineated only by their color.
Please check Fox’s website to find the latest color
VERDICT: All of the Fox Shuttle gear bags are large‚
regardless of their price. The bags measure 35 x 16 x 18
inches and have a whopping 9924 cubic-inch capacity.
The size is a major selling point for some racers and a
buzzkill for others. It is a big bag and, once full, is heavy.
MXA test riders love it because they carry multiple sets
of gear everywhere they go.

$179.95 (Shuttle)— www.foxhead.com or (888) 369-7223.

RIDE ENGINEERING YZ250
The Ride Engineering YZ250 shock link is 1.5mm
longer than stock, which makes the rear of the YZ250
9 millimeters lower.
VERDICT: MXA tested a range of YZ250 link lengths
before coming to the conclusion that the 1.5mm-longer
arm was the best setup. The rear end tracked much better under a load, and the shock travel was more consistent throughout the stroke. It should be noted that when
you lengthen the shock linkage arm, you do not change
the rising rate curve, but you do change where the rising
rate starts on the curve.

BOYESEN SPECTRA SUPERCOOLER
VERDICT: Boyesen’s larger impeller design is
25 percent more efficient at moving water than the
stocker. This is a serious product for a rider who races
long motos, not so much for a three-laps-and-a-cloud-of-dust racer.
