There is a really good reason why you can’t water-cool your fuel.

I understand that colder gas makes a difference in how much horsepower
an engine makes. If this is so, why don’t the factories use the radiators to
cool the gas by running small-diameter metal tubes filled with radiator fluid
through the gas inside the tank? It makes perfect sense to me.
It may make sense to you, but don’t repeat this idea to anyone else. It
wouldn’t work. The water in a radiator runs at 180 degrees, thus running
tubes filled with radiator water through the gas tank would heat up the gas,
not cool it down.

Luckily, the difference between
a Newton number and a kilogram is not very great. The correction factor is to multiply the
Newton number by 0.102 (and
move the decimal point). Thus,
a 4. 8 N/m fork spring is a 0.49
kg/mm spring. As a quick rule
of thumb, the Newton meter
number can be extrapolated to
be one rate stiffer in kilograms,
thus a 4. 5 N/m spring would be
a 0.46 kg/mm spring.
