red/black or blue/yellow.

$199.95 (Shuttle Savant LE blue), $179.95 (Shuttle),
$99.95 (Shuttle 180).

WHAT STANDS OUT? Here’s a list of things that stand
out with the Fox Racing Shuttle Savant gear bag.
(1) Storage space. All of the Fox Shuttle gear bags
are large, regardless of their price. The bags measure
35x16x18 inches and have a whopping 9924 cubic-inch
capacity. The size is a major coup for some racers and
a buzzkill for others. It is a big bag, and, once full, it is
heavy. MXA test riders love it because they carry multiple
sets of gear everywhere they go.
( 2) Compartments. The boots go into one end compartment. They fit easily, because the boot side of the
bag has a roomy divider that allows the boots to take
up whatever room they need. On the other end of the
Shuttle Savant is a padded helmet compartment. We had
good luck with every helmet fitting in it, even the slightly
larger 6D. There is a goggle compartment on the lid that
will accept several sets of goggles. Plentiful mesh pockets
abound in the interior for gloves, socks, tape and towels.
We were able to load the large main compartment with
two sets of gear, knee braces and even a chest protector. There is also a fold-out mat that allows a rider to
change clothes without having to stand in the dirt.
( 3) Grab handles. If the Shuttle Savant gear bag
didn’t have three sturdy grab handles, it would be a
struggle to lift into a truck. The two on the top are
handy, but the one mounted on the end is a lifesaver.
( 4) Roller bag. The large rubber wheels roll well, and
the retractable handle makes pulling 50 pounds of gear
a cinch. We like the hard plastic base that extends the
full length of the Shuttle bag.
( 5) Weight. The Shuttle tips the scales at 13. 25
pounds (empty). It weighed over 40 pounds when
jammed full of our gear.
( 6) Price. At $200, the Fox Shuttle Savant is an
expensive gear bag, but Fox offers comparable Shuttle
gear bags at lower prices. If money is an issue, order
the Fox Shuttle 180 gear bag. It’s a bargain at $99.95.
WHAT’S THE SQUAWK? The retractable handle
could be a little longer. Taller test riders could hit
their heels against the bag when towing it through
If you like to take everything you own with
you to the track, this is the perfect bag for you.
