Austin is in his fourth consecutive year racing on the
circuit and established himself as a contender in the 250
Supercross class with a career best of fourth at the 2013
San Diego Supercross. To say that Austin is a bundle of
raw talent is an understatement. It was the job of Terry
Beal, Craig Monty, Scott Stewart, Brett Leaf and Austin to
jell as a team. This doesn’t happen overnight, but 51Fifty
didn’t have a lot of time. Fortunately, thanks to the
experienced crew, trust was established quickly and the
team got down to brass tacks.
For 2015, the 51Fifty team plans to race the 250
West Supercross series and select AMA 250 Nationals.
This schedule gives the West Coast-based team time to
regroup between series and be more prepared for an
all-out assault in 2016. With Yamaha already signed up
for continued support for 2016 and Carlos upping the
ante, the team wants to field a three-rider team next
year. There will be two riders on YZ250Fs and one on
a YZ450F for the entire season. Keep a lookout for the
51Fifty team as it works its way to the top.
