Transmission: The 250SXF
Factory Edition’s five-speed
transmission features wider gears,
with a new surface treatment on the
second, third and fourth gears, along
with a special low-friction coating on
the shift forks.
Airbox: The air filter and airbox
have been completely redesigned to
ensure maximum airflow and
accurate filter mounting.
Miscellaneous: The new,
lighter footpeg design provides a
larger surface area and features a
“scraper” to reduce dirt buildup in
the hinge. The footpegs are moved
back 5mm and down 4mm. The
22mm top triple clamp features
rubber-mounted handlebars for the
Neken handlebar and ODI lock-on
grips. The 2015-1/2 KTM 250SXF
Factory Edition I uses lightweight
Galfer Wave rotors, CNC-machined
hubs, high-end Excel rims and
Dunlop Geomax MX32 tires. All the
plastic is new, and the side number
plates can be removed individually.

The 250SXF Factory Edition’s engine is 2. 4 pounds
lighter and the engine itself is almost an inch
shorter than the old engine. Most of the
shrinking was achieved by stacking
the clutch, transmission and crankshaft.
The crank is moved up 6mm, but the
connecting rod is shortened 6mm for
a more compact design. You can see
