WHEN WILL KTM BEND THE
When I bought my first KTM, I
was frustrated by the shift lever.
I couldn’t get my foot under it in
every situation. Then, I read that the
MXA wrecking crew bends its KTM
shift levers in a hydraulic press to
raise the tip. Since I had access to a
press at work, I took my shift lever
off and, with much trepidation, I
KTM can’t expect every owner to
bend his own shift lever. Are they
going to fix this problem?
This is a question that we have
been asking for several years,
and the answer is yes, no, maybe.
According to KTM’s test department, they have been promised
a redesigned shift lever for 2016.
Insiders say that next year will be a
big year for KTM updates—including
a new frame, several new engines
and perhaps even a WP air fork. In
light of all of these potential changes, we don’t see a new shift lever
being a big deal for KTM’s
