Sweden is the birthplace of Husqvarna. The tradition of the brand’s Swedish legacy is an important part of Husqvarna’s DNA. Even though the bikes haven’t been
owned by the Swedes for 30 years, the Swedish connection
is looked on as a core value by Husky’s new owner—KTM.
Historically, KTM has a strong connection to Sweden. KTM
saved Husaberg, which was a Husqvarna spin-off after
appliance giant Electrolux sold Husqvarna to the Italians in
the 1980s. Former Husky engineers and managers formed
Husaberg to keep Sweden in the game. KTM was impressed
with Husaberg’s creativity (who can forget Husaberg’s
upside-down slant engine?) and bought the brand.
