X-Move 2.0 blends
old school with
new school. The
X-Move 2.0 needs
zero break-in time.
It is supremely
very pliable compared to a modern
boot. It has the
feel of a leather
boot but with the aesthetics of a modern plastic-clad boot.
VERDICT: This is a great boot at a fair price for a rider
whose top priority is comfort and feel. It’s not the best
boot for Supercross jumps, but it meets the needs of the
typical Vet racer.

USED IT, ABUSED IT, MISUSED IT & LOVED IT
HOLD IT WIDE FORM-FITTING
Hold It Wide has come up with a form-fitting, pre-cut,
adhesive pad for riders who struggle with tape, scissors
and blisters on a weekly basis.
VERDICT: Yama-thumb is a common occurrence. And,
once you wear away the skin on the back of your thumb,
it takes a long time to heal. Hold It Wide’s thumb tape is
a peel-and-stick, latex-free, hypoallergenic, nylon-covered,
elastic pad that conforms to the shape of your hand and
can stop Yama-thumb.
DIGITS: $20.00 (palm tape), $20.00 (thumb tape), $8.00
(strips), free shipping— www.holditwide.com.
PROTECH FULL-WRAP FORK
The MXA test riders loved KTM’s previous wraparound
fork guards because they protected the fork legs from rock
dings, which increased the life of the fork seals. Sadly,
KTM dropped the full-coverage guards in 2015—and an
avalanche of leaking fork seals followed.
VERDICT: A small British company went to the trouble to injection-mold full-wrap fork guards for 2015-and-up
WP motocross forks. They are well made, strong and fit

PRO-BOOT RESOLE AND REPAIR
Pro-Boot repaired our Fly Sector soles with brand-new
Gaerne soles. This is a smart option for riders who are
trying to save a few bucks or riders who love the feel of
their old boots and don’t want to part with them.
VERDICT: You have to make a financial decision
about whether to repair your old boots or buy new ones.
If your boots are expensive, you should consider resoling
them, but it makes no sense to resole a set of $200 boots,
because once you calculate the cost of the repair and two-way shipping, it’s easier to buy a new set of cheap boots.
